If you don't have a graphing calculator, you MAY be able to get through this class with a scientific calculator and Desmos. However, I wouldn't want to. Luckily there are lots of options to help you with graphing and calculations.
You can purchase a TI-83 or 84 starting at around $90 from retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, etc.
This could be a good option if you have a lot of advanced math and science courses ahead of you that will require a calculator.
The Reedley College Library has a free calculator rental program. You can check out a calculator for the entire semester, while supplies last.
In a normal semester they are usually all checked out within the first three days of the semester.
Contact the Library to make an appointment to check out a calculator at library@reedleycollege.edu.
Visit the Reedley College Library website for updated information or follow the Library on Instagram.
For All Devices
Desmos is a graphing software that is available free online or as a downloadable app for your smartphone or tablet. I highly recommend trying it out even if you have a graphing calculator. It often gives a better image and graphing polar equations (chapter 12) is easier than on a graphing calculator.
For iOS and Android Devices
This is an awesome free calculator app that has everything we could want to use for this course. Go into the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and search "Grafncalc83" to download the app for free.
Watch this video to learn how to use this app:
For Android Devices and Computers
Go into the Google Play store and search "Wabbitemu". This app has a few extra steps to set-up before use.
Check the box marked "help me create a ROM file using open source software"
Then check the box marked "ti 84 plus c silver edition"
Tap the calculator in the background to get rid of the side menu
Select 2nd and then quit (or mode) to get rid of the RAM Cleared message
