Cryo Engineer

The job consists of assembly, testing, reporting and commissioning BlueFors systems with high quality standards. The job requires flexibility with working hours and frequent international travel for installations on-site at the customer premises.

Technician (Fine Assembly)

You will be working in a team of 15 highly skilled technicians. They create all our assemblies and parts used for the inner workings of our products. These can be varying from single customized parts up to small assembled series.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Assembly of our highly complex main heat exchanger unit
  • Machining, brazing, soldering and gluing of parts and assembling components
  • Vacuum testing of components and assemblies

Requirements:

  • Technical education and background

  • Skills in turning and milling on manually operated machines
  • Soldering and brazing skills

Technician (Wiring Department)

You will be a part of our Wiring Assembly team producing high quality assemblies and wiring options for our systems with accuracy and ability to concentrate.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Assembling and testing multi-pole fine lead wirings
  • Sensor manufacturing and testing
  • Low temperature RF line manufacturing and testing

Qualities and skills:

  • Be a skilled user of soldering tools, multi-meters and tweezers in electronics assembly
  • Handle wires down to 0.05mm
  • Ability to trace and fix defects
  • Knowledge in reading and understanding technical drawings and documents
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Ability to work independently without supervision and deliver high quality products within tight schedules, efficiency and consistency

Workshop & Welding Assistant

You will be a part of our Workshop team providing general assistance and preparing the parts for machining or welding.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Preparation of parts for machining or welding, e.g. sawing materials to correct length
  • Maintaining and organizing the materials warehouse
  • General assistance and support to Workshop and Welding teams
  • Maintaining equipment and facilities
  • Assisting in finishing the machined parts

Qualities and skills:

  • Technical experience in metal work, manual machining and such
  • Knowledge of metal materials, education of e.g sheet metal welder or equivalent
  • Experience in welding (Tig)

Work includes considerable amount of travel (approx. 50% of working time or more), mostly in US and Canada, but possibly internationally as well. The position requires 2-4 months long induction period at headquarters, in Helsinki Finland, after which the work is stationed in New York City at Bluefors Inc. premises. No US citizenship required.

Currently Bluefors in Helsinki employs 150 professionals from 18 different nationalities. Bluefors also has offices in Germany and Netherlands.

Main responsibilities of a Cryo Engineer are:

  • On-site installation and commissioning of cryogenic systems (dry dilution refrigerators)
  • On-site service and maintenance of cryogenic systems

Qualities and skills:

  • Experience with cryogenic control systems, cryogenic system implementation, commissioning, and operation
  • Knowledge of safe cryogenic engineering practices
  • MSc degree in applied/technical physics (minimum)
  • Ability to perform highly physical work requiring regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and lifting
  • To perform customer on-site visits a valid driver's license (minimum 1 year from acquiring the license) with no major or frequent traffic violations is a must have
