Dr. Syed Rizwan Hassan is a dynamic researcher and educator with an exceptional academic journey. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Lahore in 2022, focusing on "Fog Computing for Internet of Things Applications." Prior to this, he completed his Masters in Electrical Engineering from Government College University Lahore in 2014, with a thesis on "Performance Analysis of Wireless Sensor Networks." His foundational education includes B.S. in Telecommunication Engineering from Government College University Faisalabad in 2010.
Dr. Hassan's scholarly endeavours have resulted in a series of impactful contributions to his field. He has published extensively in reputable journals, including notable papers such as "Design of load-aware resource allocation for heterogeneous fog computing systems" in PeerJ Computer Science and "Remote Pain Monitoring Using Fog Computing for e-Healthcare: An Efficient Architecture" in Sensors. His research interests span across a broad spectrum of domains including Cloud and Fog Computing, Wireless Sensor Networks and Machine Learning.
Dr. Syed Rizwan Hassan has garnered extensive teaching experience across several prestigious institutions in Pakistan. His academic journey began as a Visiting Lecturer at Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT) from 2015 to 2017, where he contributed to the academic growth of students through his insightful lectures and mentorship.
In October 2015, Dr. Hassan also took on the role of Lecturer at Government College University Lahore, a position he held until February 2018. During this time, he delivered lectures to undergraduate students in the Electrical Engineering Department, wrote laboratory manuals, and supervised research theses for master’s students. He was actively involved in writing research articles and preparing research proposals for external funding.
Following this, Dr. Hassan joined NFC Institute of Engineering and Fertilizer Research (IEFR) Faisalabad in February 2018. He served as a Lecturer there until December 2022, where he continued to deliver lectures and supervise research projects. His role expanded to include active participation in the Quality Enhancement Committee (QEC) of the Electrical Engineering Department, writing self-assessment reports, and facilitating Pakistan Engineering Council accreditation processes. In January 2023, Dr. Hassan was promoted to Assistant Professor at the School of Computing Sciences. In this capacity, he has been coordinating three-degree programs: BS Data Science, BS Artificial Intelligence, and BS Cyber Security. His ongoing responsibilities include supervising research and final-year projects, further enhancing the academic and professional growth of his students.
