I am an empirical researcher at the School of Accountancy, Economics and Finance of Massey University and a fellow of the Global Labor Organization (GLO). I received my PhD from the Australian National University (ANU) in 2014 and previously held appointments at the Planning Commission and the Ministry of Finance in Bangladesh and the ANU Crawford School of Public Policy in Australia.
I am interested in studying applied microeconomic issues, focusing on policy and impact evaluation. I have published articles in top-rated journals such as the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization (ABDC A*), Landscape and Urban Planning (SCImago Q1, IF: 8.1), Energy Economics (ABDC A*), Economics of Transition and Institutional Change (ABDC A), Agricultural Economics (ABDC A), Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABDC A), Applied Economics (ABDC A), Scientometrics (ABDC A) and Economic Record (ABDC A).
I am presently serving as an Associate Editor of the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABDC A). I have acted as a referee for more than 15 different ABDC A* and A-level journals, including Nature Food (IF 23.2), the Journal of Applied Econometrics (ABDC A*), the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization (ABDC A*) and Energy Economics (ABDC A*).
I am currently evaluation the impact of job and entrepreneuship training on income and employment in Nepal. My teaching interests broadly include Economic Policy, Microeconomics, Econometrics, and Impact/Policy/Program Evaluation.
