My Student Teaching has been with a 5th grade split subject Math & ELA class at a school in Spring ISD. I have learned to build relationships with my students, set expectations, give support, and handle multiple behavioral situations.
About Me ~
I am originally from New Zealand. My family moved here in 2000 when I was just 2 years old. We became US citizens in 2016. I was in public school from Pre-K till 3rd grade. From 4th grade through high school my brother and I were homeschooled. My parents owned and operated a Onsite Machining Company so we did most of our schooling at their work, where we had our own space for ourselves. Being homeschooled allowed me to see how different forms of education and learning styles can be implemented. My parents raised me to be social, inclusive, kind, and outgoing.
I am currently 26 years old starting a career and building a life with my husband; as we both start navigating our respective fields. My husband is a Merchant mariner. His job requires a lot of travel, sudden changes, and a lack of communication. As we navigate our careers together I have learned to plan with flexibility in mind and make sure I am adaptable to anything thrown at me.
