Privacy Policy - Floor Plan Creator: 3D Design
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Floor Plan Creator: 3D Design ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App. The App lets you draw 2D floor plans, view 3D home designs, plan interior layouts, and measure rooms using an AR (augmented reality) ruler.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
This policy applies to the App as distributed on Google Play and covers data collected through the App itself and through the third-party services it uses, including Google AdMob and Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, and Cloud Messaging).
Information We Collect
Information you provide
• Project data: floor plans, room layouts, measurements, and design choices you create in the App (stored on your device unless you choose to export or share them)
• Support communications: if you contact us, we collect your email address and message content
Information collected automatically
• Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, and language settings
• Usage data: screens viewed, features used, session length, and in-app interactions
• Diagnostic data: crash reports, app performance data, and error logs
• Advertising identifiers: Google Advertising ID (GAID) and similar identifiers used to serve and measure ads
Camera and AR data
• The App uses your device camera to power the AR Ruler feature. Camera images and depth/motion data are processed on your device to calculate measurements. We do not upload, store, or transmit camera images or video to our servers.
• Camera access is requested only when you use AR measuring features and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.
Permissions used
• Camera: required for the AR Ruler and AR visualization features
• Storage: to save and load your floor plan projects and exported files
• Internet/Network state: required for ads, analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration
• Notifications: to send you app updates or reminders via Firebase Cloud Messaging, if enabled
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays ads through Google AdMob, including AdMob's next-generation (Open Bidding / mediation) ad formats. AdMob may collect and process:
• Advertising ID (GAID) and other device identifiers
• IP address and approximate (coarse) location
• Ad interaction data: impressions, clicks, and ad performance
• Information used for ad personalization and frequency capping
AdMob may work with third-party ad networks and measurement partners as part of mediation and bidding. These partners may also collect data under their own privacy policies. A current list of ad technology partners is available at Google's Ad Technology Providers page.
Your ad choices
• You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization (Android) or through the Google Ads Settings page.
• Where required by law (e.g., in the EEA and UK), we request your consent for personalized advertising through a consent management platform (CMP) before showing personalized ads.
• You can reset your Advertising ID at any time in your device settings.
For more detail on how Google uses data from apps that use its services, see Google's Privacy & Terms and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Firebase Services
The App uses several Google Firebase services to operate reliably and improve over time. Firebase is provided by Google LLC and processes data under Google's Privacy Policy and the Firebase Terms of Service.
Firebase Analytics
Collects app usage data such as screens viewed, button taps, session duration, and user engagement patterns. This helps us understand which features are used and improve the App. Data is generally aggregated and tied to a Firebase-generated app instance ID, not directly to your name or email.
Firebase Crashlytics
Automatically collects crash reports and diagnostic logs when the App encounters an error, including device model, OS version, stack traces, and the app state at the time of the crash. This data helps us identify and fix bugs. It does not include your floor plan project content.
Firebase Remote Config
Allows us to remotely enable, disable, or adjust app features and settings (such as which ad placements are active) without requiring an app update. Remote Config uses your app instance identifier and basic device/app parameters (such as app version, country, and language) to determine which configuration to serve you.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
Used to send you push notifications, such as feature updates or reminders. FCM assigns a device registration token to your installation. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Data location and retention
Firebase data may be processed on Google's servers located in the United States and other countries where Google operates data centers. Google acts as our data processor for these services.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
• Provide, operate, and maintain the App's core features (2D drawing, 3D visualization, interior design tools, and AR measuring)
• Save and sync your projects on your device
• Diagnose and fix crashes, bugs, and performance issues (via Crashlytics)
• Understand feature usage and improve the App (via Analytics)
• Remotely configure features and ad behavior without requiring an update (via Remote Config)
• Send you notifications about updates or relevant features (via FCM), where enabled
• Display and measure advertising, and personalize ads where you have consented (via AdMob)
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
Permissions Used
Permission
Why we need it
Camera
Powers the AR Ruler and AR visualization features to measure rooms, walls, doors, and windows
Storage
Saves and loads your floor plan projects and lets you export plans as images or files
Network / Internet
Required for ads, analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration
Notifications
Sends optional updates and reminders via Firebase Cloud Messaging
You can review and change any of these permissions at any time in your device's Settings > Apps > Floor Plan Creator: 3D Design > Permissions. Denying a permission may disable the related feature (for example, denying Camera access disables AR measuring) but will not prevent you from using the rest of the App.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information.
We share limited information with the following categories of third parties, solely to operate the App:
• Google (Firebase & AdMob): acts as our data processor for Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging, and advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Ad mediation and demand partners: certified partners within AdMob's mediation and Open Bidding network may receive limited identifiers (such as your Advertising ID) to serve and measure ads. See Google's Ad Technology Providers list.
• Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, ourselves, or others.
• Business transfers: if the App or company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any material change.
We do not share your floor plan project content (your designs, room layouts, or measurements) with any third party unless you explicitly choose to export or share a project yourself.
Data Retention and Security
• Your floor plan project data is stored locally on your device and remains there until you delete it or uninstall the App.
• Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to Google's default retention periods (typically 2 to 14 months, configurable by us), after which it is deleted or aggregated.
• Advertising identifiers are retained by AdMob and its partners according to their own retention policies.
• We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as encrypted network connections) to protect the information we and our service providers process. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If the App is listed under Google Play's Designed for Families program, ad requests are configured to be treated as child-directed where applicable, disabling personalized advertising and other adult-only features for those users, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your information:
• Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: request that inaccurate information be corrected
• Deletion: request deletion of your personal information (note: locally stored project data can be deleted directly by clearing app data or uninstalling the App)
• Objection / restriction: object to or restrict certain processing, including personalized advertising
• Withdraw consent: withdraw previously given consent (such as for personalized ads) at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal
• Data portability: request your data in a portable format, where applicable
• Do Not Sell or Share (California residents): we do not sell or share personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the Contact Us section below. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (for example, 30 days under GDPR).
EU/UK/EEA users may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers (including Google) operate data centers. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your country of residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, for such transfers, consistent with Google's data processing terms.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. We will post the updated policy in the App and/or on our website, and update the "Effective date" above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
