The smurfs were discovered first by a writer who goes by the name peyo who encountered grandpa smurf somewhere on his 500 year journey (See on the smurf facts page) and decided to write about what grandpa smurf had told him and put it into his books: les schtroumpfs and gave the small but wise creature a security camera to document his everyday life in the smurfs village and since then the smurfs have been more than happy to record their lives on that little security camera and thus the smurfs made there own show in the 1980s but before that had books, the first of which was “The Black Smurf” which was changed to the purple smurf in america for obvious reasons associated with racism

And was released in america in the 1960’s and since then dozens and dozens more books were released like:The gambling Smurf, king smurf, the smurfette, and many more but before all that they were in the magic flute with six holes and later the movie made after that: The magic flute. Anyway less about their acting career and more about their lives. The smurfs originally lived in “the cursed land” where they traveled on storks and eventually found mushroom houses which were later named “Smurf Village” where 97 of the original smurfs lived until a few more were introduced like: Grandpa Smurf, Nana Smurf, Smurfette Smurf, And Sassette Smurf. And after that gargamel came searching for smurfs (Originally to make a gold creating potion put then he let rage get to him and now we literally just wants to eat them and kill them) with his cat asriel and later introduced his ugly massive “majestic” bird. One of gargamel's most well known schemes was when he created smurfette to try to lure the smurfs to him by making them all love smurfette and for a bit it was working, and they all tried to make her fall in love with them when papa smurf turned her into a real smurf.

• The Purple Smurf episode and book covers all the events of this outbreak when lazy smurf gets bitten in the butt by a purple fly and becomes a sick gibberish speaking zombie. Some say this was the first “Real Zombie Movie” and was actually a pretty good episode of the smurfs.

The creation of smurfette was basically magic clay with a ton of extra ingredients and where kind of lost in translation, here are the few translations

• half a pack of lies (white, of course)
