Below are instructions for iTunes. Keep scrolling for Spotify instructions.
Please note that the hosting websites above allow people to hear your podcasts already, with the link you provide them. This is simply taking it a step further.
1. Upload the episode file to the hosting website of your choice.
2. The host will then publish your episode to your RSS feed. Once that is done, retrieve your RSS web address. It should be generally easy to find this link on your hosts website. Example below (Buzzsprout).
A podcast RSS feed is what allows users to subscribe to that podcast in order to listen to it without visiting the exact website where it is located. A RSS feed also updates subscribers when new episodes are uploaded, so subscribers never have to go searching for the new episodes.
3. Go to iTunes and either create an account or sign into your already existing one. Then, register with iTunes connect. https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/
4. Submit your podcast to iTunes by clicking the top left plus sign as shown below.
5. You will then be asked for your RSS feed address. If anything is missing from the information needed, Apple will let you know.
6. Once you have the green light, click submit and you are done! Apple will notify you when they have received your submission.
Click on the link: https://podcasters.spotify.com/
Click on the blue “Get Started” button.
Then you will be asked to sign in with your already existing account or create a new one.
Paste in the link to your podcast's RSS feed.
Spotify will send a verification email to the address in your RSS feed. Copy the 8-digit code from that email and paste in the submit form.
Add your podcast info like the category, language, and country.
After this your podcast should be up and running on Spotify!
