Watchdog is the second boss you encounter, out of the three that I have currently cleared he was the hardest. This fight requires good team coordination and group awareness.
The Missiles: Drops a gtae under each player dealing high damage to anyone standing inside 10s CD
Melee Swipe: 120 degree cleave 4.5s CD
PMX4 Polarized Proximity Bombs: Fires either a Positive (blue) or Negative (orange) PMX4 Bomb at each player. 2m CD
Negative PMX4 Bomb & Positive PMX4 Bomb: The PMX4 bomb mechs are similar to M&B's Resonant Explosive probe, if you get to close to another player represented by an AOE the bomb will explode, the bombs damage is dependent on the color of the other bomb touched. If 2 of same color it will deals medium damage, however if its an opposite color it will deal massive damage, regardless it will inflict a stack of Matter Disruption when it explodes. this explosion can also affect Watchdog.
Matter Disruption: Damage taken increased by 10% per stack. Lasts 30s
Watchdog Protocol: Watchdog begins to observe the players polarities, If Watchdog is observing your specific polarity (shown by the floor changing colors DO NOT MOVE. during that time you will be hindered (like Mercs/Commandos Electro net) and If you walk you will start to trigger Watchdog displayed as a Debuff on the player moving, if you trigger him enough times Watchdog will agro onto the moving player and murder them. If you don't have a bomb or the floor is not your color you are free to move around.
Hair Trigger Protocol: Becomes instantly Triggered if taunted. Becomes triggered if Watched enemies move. Watching enemies within a 180 degree forward cone. Damage increased by 10%. a more aggressive version of Watchdog Protocol, will only gain stacks of Watchdog Violation if anyone in front of him moves, and immediately generates 5 stacks if taunted.
Watchdog Violation: Target is moving while under Watchdog Protocol! At 5 stacks, the Watchdog will become Triggered.
Watchdog Protocol (Positive/Negative): Moving will cause severe periodic damage and accumulate Watchdog Violation.
Degauss: (Wait... M&B uses a Mech of the same name!) causes all remaining PMX4 Bombs to drop on the ground turning them into mines. Don't worry these mines will only go off if something polarized touches it, but that wont happen... right?
Stalker Protocol: Watchdog activates his stalker protocols Polarizing him increasing his damage by 200% and reducing his movement speed by 75% During this phase if Watchdog runs over a mine it will explode damaging him, However depending on the mine there will be 2 outcomes. If its the same color Watchdog is Polarized the mine damages in a smaller radius, but if its the opposite color the mine will cause a wipe.
Stalker Protocol (Buff): Claws polarized (negative/positive) to deal maximum damage. Damage dealt massively increased. Movement speed massively decreased.
Invert: Changes Stalker Protocols Polarity.
Polarized Beam: Watchdog Fires a Polarized beam, if unmitigated it will do mortal damage. The attack can be mitigated if a player of the same polarity as the beam blocks the shot.
Strategies:
Phase 1:
The first phase has watchdog using his basic attack's, Missiles and the PMX4 Bombs, I suggest that the group stays further apart from each other to avoid mine explosion since those a crucial for Stalker Protocol. Always make sure to have the tank not face the group since his cleave is powerful and everyone needs to be prepared to move at a moments notice since the missiles hit hard and only telegraph were they will hit for a very short amount of time. I would suggest the tank and another player of the same polarity detonate each others bomb. Only those 2 should clear mines, and the mines should be cleared under Watchdog to cause him to take more damage.
Phase 2:
Phase 2 is the simplest of the phases, Watchdog will activate his Watchdog protocols. During this time the people with bombs of the same polarity as the floor cannot move, Watchdog will use his missiles attack during this time, so save a DCD for when the missiles hit while you cannot move. Other than that it is like phase 1.
Phase 3:
Watchdog activates Degauss dispelling all players mines and turning them into mine on the floor. Watchdog will then activate stalker protocols, The tank should start kiting him as to avoid taking damage. During this phase any Bombs Watchdog walks over explode, this makes him more vulnerable to attack, but he should only run over mines of his polarity. My groups strategy was to choose two separate areas to drop the bombs, then the tank would take Watchdog to the mines he is of equal polarity. Just 1 misplaced bomb can be a death sentence.
Phase 4:
In this phase Watchdog will go periodically attach and detach the bombs on the player. Watchdog will Start to use Polarized beam, a player with the same color as the beam needs to stand in-between the Tank and Watchdog this will significantly reduce the beams damage. when the beam begins casting the tank should get as far from Watchdog as possible to avoid the Mine of the person who is blocking the beam, Coordinate who is going to block the beam as having 2 people run into each other is not good. Watchdog will also start using Watchdog Protocol again. This is the burn Phase
