The 40th Solar Orbiter Science Working Team Meeting will take place from 8th to 10th of April 2025 at the Royal Observatory of Belgium in Brussels. The goals of the meeting are to identify for the first half of 2026 the science priorities and the corresponding list of prioritized SOOPs, and to fix the location of the remote sensing windows. For the second half of 2026 the preliminary science priorities will be identified. Finally the process to prepare for the Solar Orbiter mission extension from 2027 will be started up. The meeting will be preceded (Monday-Tuesday) by an open EUI-Metis Workshop and followed by a SPICE consortium meeting. Please register for each of these meetings independently. Remote access will be possible on a best effort basis, the link will be distributed through the usual Solar Orbiter mailing lists.
We plan to have a joint dinner to celebrate the 5-year anniversary of Solar Orbiter on Wednesday 9th evening, in the top sphere of the Atomium with a panoramic view on the city. If you indicate your interest in the SWT registration form, then we will contact you in March with menu options and cost.
The Solar Orbiter SOWG code of conduct will apply for this meeting.
