Welcome to SWP, a language services platform that connects users with professional interpreters for voice, video, and messaging interpretation. Your privacy and safety are extremely important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the SWP mobile application and related services.
When you create an account, we may collect:
First and last name
Email address or phone number
Date of birth
Gender (optional)
Country and language preferences
Profile photo (optional)
Interpreter education and languages (for interpreter accounts)
To provide interpretation services, we may process:
Messages between users and interpreters
Voice and video session metadata (time, duration, participants)
Booking and service history
Certain communication content may be processed by third-party AI services to provide translation, transcription, speech processing, and language assistance features.
SWP does NOT record audio or video calls unless explicitly stated in the app and with user consent.
We may access approximate location to:
Find nearby interpreters
Show relevant local services
Location is used only while the app is active and is not continuously tracked in the background without permission.
SWP may request access to:
Camera – for video interpretation sessions
Microphone – for voice and video interpretation
Notifications – for bookings, messages, and updates
You can disable these permissions in your device settings at any time.
Payments inside SWP are processed through secure payment providers depending on the platform used.
• On Apple devices, purchases of in-app credits are processed through Apple In-App Purchase in accordance with Apple policies.
• On Android devices, purchases of in-app credits are processed through Google Play Billing in accordance with Google Play policies.
• On web platforms, payments may be processed through Stripe.
• Interpreter payouts and service-related financial transactions may be processed through Stripe or other secure payment providers.
SWP does not store full card numbers or sensitive payment credentials. Payment data is handled securely by the respective payment providers according to their security and PCI-DSS standards.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
Create and manage your account
Connect users with interpreters
Provide voice, video, and chat interpretation
Process payments through Apple In-App Purchase, Google Play Billing, or Stripe depending on the platform
Send service notifications
Improve app safety, quality, and performance
Prevent fraud, abuse, or illegal activity
We only share data when necessary:
Between users and interpreters to complete services
With payment providers such as Apple, Google Play, and Stripe for payment processing
With legal authorities when required by law
With communication and cloud service providers required for app functionality
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3.1 AI Services & Data Processing
SWP may use third-party artificial intelligence (“AI”) services to provide translation, transcription, speech processing, language assistance, and communication-related features.
Depending on the feature used, limited user data such as voice audio, text messages, selected languages, and communication content may be securely transmitted to trusted third-party AI providers for processing.
These providers may include:
• OpenAI
• Speech-to-text and translation providers
• Text-to-speech providers
• Communication infrastructure providers such as Agora
AI providers are only given the minimum data necessary to perform the requested service and are required to protect data using industry-standard security measures.
SWP does not sell user data to AI providers.
Users are informed and asked for consent before AI-related processing is enabled within the app.
Before any voice audio or communication data is sent to third-party AI services, SWP displays a clear consent prompt explaining:
what data is being shared,
which third-party providers, including OpenAI, process the data
and why the processing is required.
Users must explicitly accept before AI processing begins.
4. Data Storage & Security
We protect your data using:
Secure cloud infrastructure (Firebase/Google Cloud)
Encrypted network communication
Access controls and authentication safeguards
While we take strong precautions, no system is 100% secure.
Inside the app, you may:
Enable or disable notifications
Control location, camera, and microphone permissions
Block other users
Request account deletion
You may request deletion of your SWP account at any time from within the app.
When deletion is requested:
Personal profile data is removed
Authentication credentials are deleted
Remaining data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable legal period
Some records (such as payment transactions) may be retained if required by law.
SWP is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us to remove it.
Your data may be processed in countries where our cloud providers or service providers operate, including the United States.
By using SWP, you consent to this transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted inside the app with a new effective date.
Continued use of SWP means you accept the updated policy.
