1. Introduction
Swoosh Keyboard ("we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our custom Input Method Editor (IME) on Android.
2. Data Collection and On-Device Processing
As a keyboard app, Swoosh processes the text you type to provide predictions, spell-checking, and auto-correction. All text processing and personal dictionary learning occurs locally on your device. We do not log, transmit, or store your keystrokes, passwords, credit card numbers, or personal messages on any external servers.
3. Voice Input
If you use the voice input feature, audio is processed using Android's built-in SpeechRecognizer service. This audio data is handled by your device's default speech recognition provider (typically Google) according to their privacy policies. Swoosh itself does not record or store your audio files.
4. Optional AI Prediction Feature
Swoosh includes an optional, opt-in AI prediction feature. If you explicitly enable this feature in the settings, short snippets of your recent typing context may be sent to a third-party Large Language Model (LLM) API (such as OpenAI) solely for the purpose of predicting the next letter. This data is anonymized and is not used to train the third-party models. If this feature remains disabled (the default state), no text is ever transmitted.
5. Google Play Billing
Swoosh uses Google Play Billing to process the optional one-time support purchase. Payment information is handled securely by Google. We do not have access to your credit card or payment details. We only receive a secure token confirming your purchase status.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date.
