If you want waterproof headphones for swimming, choose Swimbuds Sport Waterproof Swimming; if you need wireless earbuds for commuting, choose Boytond Ear Buds. For commuting, Boytond’s Bluetooth connection, call controls, and charging case make it the more practical everyday option; Swimbuds is built around a very different job: staying secure and connected to audio during swim sessions.
• Swimbuds Sport’s biggest strength: a 40 cm short cord and an IPX8 waterproof design for swimming. Trade-off: it is a wired, swim-focused fit rather than a Bluetooth commuting headset.
• Boytond Ear Buds’ biggest strength: Bluetooth calling, physical controls, and a charging case designed to extend listening between charges. Trade-off: its IPX4 rating is not the same as the swimming-focused waterproofing of Swimbuds.
• Choose Swimbuds Sport if your priority is lap swimming, a secure seal, and a cable designed to sit under a goggle strap.
• Choose Boytond if you want a wireless earpiece for calls, music, and everyday travel with compatible phones, tablets, or laptops.
• For a commute where calls matter, Boytond has the more relevant controls; for time in the pool, Swimbuds is the clear fit.
Swimbuds Sport is designed for swimming, not for the usual everyday wireless-earbud routine. Its 40 cm cable is short by design: the idea is to reduce excess cord around the head and limit tangling or drag during laps. The wearing instructions also reflect that purpose. The earbuds are meant to sit beneath a goggle strap, with the cable running under the strap and pointing upward from the ear. That is a specific setup, but one that makes sense when goggles are already part of the routine.
The fit options are a substantial part of the design. The package includes 11 pairs of tips across four styles, giving swimmers multiple ways to seek a comfortable, secure seal. A seal matters in water, and the product is described as having a watertight fit and IPX8 waterproofing. Reinforced cords and a body designed for regular swim sessions round out the water-oriented construction. The supplied zipper case is useful for keeping the earbuds and tips together between workouts.
I’d consider Swimbuds Sport if swimming is the main reason you’re buying headphones and you’re comfortable managing a wired setup. It is also the more purposeful choice for someone who wants earbuds arranged around goggles rather than around a phone call or a crowded commute. The trade-off is that the cable and swimming-specific fit are not as convenient for ordinary travel. The data lists a 3.5 mm jack connection and wired connectivity, so check that your intended audio device can connect to it. Skip Swimbuds Sport if you want true wireless earbuds for commuting or need an earpiece primarily for hands-free calls.

Boytond is aimed at a different everyday problem: staying connected to a phone or another Bluetooth device while listening and handling calls. It uses Bluetooth 5.2 according to the product details, and its listed Bluetooth range is 10 meters. The single-earpiece design has a rotatable hook that can be adjusted for the left or right ear. That makes it a practical format for someone who values call access and a wearable hook over a pair of conventional in-ear buds.
Calls are a particular focus. The earpiece includes a microphone, a dedicated mute button, and button controls for functions such as answering or ending calls, rejecting calls, and managing playback. Siri support is also listed. The product description says the longer earpiece is positioned close to the mouth for calls, while CVC8.0 noise reduction is intended to reduce distracting background sound. Those are useful design priorities for a commuter who takes calls on the move, though they do not establish a guaranteed call result in every setting.
Battery figures need a little care when comparing this model with other headphones. Boytond’s description states 10–12 hours of talk or music from a single charge and up to 100 hours in total with the case. The case is listed as providing up to 10 additional charges and has an LED display for its battery level. This emphasis on a case and extended use can suit someone who travels through long days and prefers not to charge the earpiece after every short trip. The description also mentions direct charging through a Type-C port on the headset itself.
Boytond’s IPX4 rating is a limited splash-resistance claim, not a swimming specification. I would choose it for commuting, calls, and general Bluetooth listening—not for laps in a pool. Its hook-style fit may also be less familiar than a small pair of standard in-ear buds, and it is a single earpiece rather than a conventional stereo pair. Skip Boytond if you need headphones for swimming or want the swim-specific short-cord fit and multiple tip options of Swimbuds Sport.
• Best for swimming laps → Swimbuds Sport. Its IPX8 waterproofing, short cable, and goggle-oriented wearing instructions are built around pool use.
• Best for commuting calls → Boytond. Bluetooth, a microphone, a mute button, and call controls fit a travel day with calls to manage.
• Best for avoiding a long cable during swimming → Swimbuds Sport. The 40 cm cord is intended to reduce tangles and drag while swimming.
• Best for wireless connection to a phone, tablet, or laptop → Boytond. It is a Bluetooth headset with no headphone jack.
• Best for choosing among several ear-tip styles → Swimbuds Sport. It includes 11 pairs across four styles to help find a secure and comfortable fit.
• Best for extending listening between access to a charger → Boytond. Its listed battery figures include 10–12 hours per charge and up to 100 hours with the case, according to the product description.
• Best for one-ear call access and physical controls → Boytond. Its hook-style earpiece and buttons are designed around calls and hands-free operation.
• Best for a swim-specific fit under goggles → Swimbuds Sport. Boytond’s IPX4 splash resistance is not a substitute for Swimbuds’ swimming-focused construction.
Start with where you will actually wear the headphones. If the answer is a pool, the product’s waterproof rating and fit instructions deserve more weight than its convenience on a train. Swimbuds Sport is designed to work with goggles and a short cord, while Boytond is made for wireless listening and calls. They are not interchangeable solutions simply because both play audio.
For commuting, consider how you listen and what you need to do mid-trip. Boytond is the more natural match if you expect to take calls, mute yourself, or control playback without reaching for your phone. Its Bluetooth connection is also the relevant feature for people searching for Bluetooth headphones for commuting. The single-earpiece format may suit someone who wants a call-focused headset, but it is different from buying a pair of conventional true wireless earbuds for commuting.
Think about battery expectations in terms of the figures provided, not just the largest total. Boytond’s description gives 10–12 hours for a single charge and up to 100 hours with the case. The case’s stated role is to recharge the earpiece between uses; that total is not the same as 100 hours from one charge. The available details do not provide a fast-charging time, so I would not choose it specifically as one of the fast charging head phones for commuting based on the listed information.
Fit is another practical dividing line. Swimbuds offers a choice of 11 pairs of tips in four styles, which may help swimmers find a snug seal. Boytond uses a rotatable ear hook and is intended to fit a range of ear shapes. Those approaches solve different problems: one is about a watertight swimming fit, the other about wearing a Bluetooth earpiece for calls and daily listening.
Finally, keep the water claims in perspective. Swimbuds is described as IPX8 and intended for swimming. Boytond is IPX4, which is a splash-resistance rating in the product details, not a claim that it is suitable for submersion. If water exposure is central to the purchase, that distinction should decide the comparison. If your main concern is commuting, calls, and wireless operation, Boytond’s strengths matter more.
For commuting, I would choose Boytond Ear Buds because Bluetooth, call controls, a mute button, and a charging case line up with everyday travel better than a short wired swimming headset. Its single-earpiece format and IPX4 rating are real limitations, so I would not buy it for pool use. If I were choosing specifically for swimming, I’d take Swimbuds Sport for its IPX8 design, goggle-friendly cable, and range of tip styles.
