Hello there! This site is still under reconstruction. But like the Death Star it is operational.
My collecting started with the Kenner/Hasbro figures and vehicles.
Among the first toys produced were toy action figures, ships and vehicles, and later entire play sets in the 3.75 inch scale. They are still popular among kids and collectors alike today.
As a kid I really wanted a Snow Speeder. I love the movie scenes on Hoth in Empire. But the thing was darn expensive. I got a few figures and a small ship that looked similar to the Emperor's Shuttle.
Eventually I found a speeder and AT-ST at K-mart. It was a special re-relaese and the price was right. I added some figures, and thank the Maker even found some main character figures like Vader, R2-D2 and C-3PO, and even Boba Fett.
Here they are. Most of my action figure toys. Plus a DVD set of the trilogy gifted by a friend.
Jyn Erso and K-2SO are a more recent addition from the movie Rougue One. The re-programmed imperial droid is introduced in the more recent show Andor where he crosses paths with Cassian Andor.
Disney keeps introducing new characters and so far Hasbro has kept up making toys of many of them. I am not keeping up. But these two were found at a Five Below store.
(Writer and Director George Lucas)
Figures in the Black Series are larger (6 inch), more detailed, and more articulated to recreate more different poses.
Three generations of the greatest Women in Star Wars history who gave birth to Hope, led the Resistance, and saved the Galaxy: Queen Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman), Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), and Rey Skywalker (Daisy Ridley).
Black Series 6 inch Figures. Mint in Packages (MIP) for collecting.
So far, these 3 are my only characters in this series. Aside from a Holo figure of Bo Katan with a bounty pug (see below) from the Mandalorian show.
★ Collector Dilemma: To take out of the box or not? The packaging itself has a big appeal, and collectors literally price the mint condition of unopened toys. But this series in particular lets you show off heroines and heroes (or villains) in more cool ways.
Real collectors seek early production releases. I have figures not because of monetary value but because of my personal interest.
The first action figures were shipped in 1978 after a delay because Kenner was not able to get production and distribution ready by Christmas following the first Star Wars Movie. So kids received an empty box from stores. I was definitely a late adopter. And I do not have all of the few toys I first bought anymore.
Check out examples of my collection compared to early models and the versions I have now:
The ISP-6 Mini Rig I got compared to the "real" Lambda Class Shuttle I really wanted.
The original AT-ST and the newer version with I bought during a re-release with updated coloring.
I must say, except for the new helmet I actually like the older Pilot version (left) better.
Book images are from: Collecting Star Wars Toys by Jeffrey Snyder (1998). This guide is outdated but contains information with photos of many early toys. Its focus is action figures, but wile it mentions other items, it interestingly does not mention Lego at all. You might find a used copy or other more up-to-date sources with a Goggle HoloNet search.
★ Data Fact: Licensed action figure (and vehicle) toys are sold by Hasbro. They were originally made by a company called Kenner which was once part of Generall Mills. For their sales pitch to Lucas, employees had taken off-the-shelf figures and turned them into Star Wars characters.
★ Collector Note: 3.75 inch figures have gotten quite bit better in detail and paint over the decades. This particular scale was chosen to keep ship sizes small and affordable. But the price has gone up exponentially now! (Around $14-17 in 2025. One reason why I stopped collecting. For now.)
Hasbro keeps re-releasing and merchandising figures. For example in a Retro Collection edition, complete with old-fashioned packaging and cheaper figure look. Not to be confused with the Vintage Collection which offers high quality versions of classic characters, some of which may be re-issues after discontinuation.
Check out an article about some of the highest Auction Prices fetched for Star Wars items, including the highest for a prototype Boba Fett action figure (over $1.3 Million), with this HoloNet link from the BBC.
★ Fan Review: One grievance I have is that hands don't hold items well and figs that have a base don't stay put on it. (This problem might be typical for a Battle droid to lose his blaster and topple over, but embarrassing for a Mandalorian warrior like Bo Katan!)
This is my prized possession - Obi-Wan's lightsaber.
For my first cosplay I needed a lightsaber, and the inexpensive Luke saber I had picked up somewhere wouldn't really do. I kept looking but couldn't find Obi-Wan's saber as a toy.
I compared Galaxy Edge's and Hasbro's authentic props and decided on the latter. Although it feels a bit too heavy, the features are more advanced and it's just stunning - from realistic ignition effect to motion sounds.

★ Collector Note: The sabers you can build or buy at Galaxy's Edge have the special feature of accepting original Disney Kyber crystals.

Looks nice on my wall.

I found it at a church rummage sale.

Some Items that are special to me:
The Jedi Path is a book with records about the history, wisdom, practices of the Jedi. It has been preserved and is annotated by members of the order. Those who are chosen to read its texts will also gain other information, for example about attire, equipment, and or course the Force.
My wife got this Savings Bank with R2-D2 and C-3PO used and gave it to me as a birthday gift. The droids move with movie theme music and signature phrases.

This Mandalorian Mug with a shiny silver helmet was a Christmas present from a church member who also gave me this BB-8 Calendar. I have it perpetually stuck in May the 4th.
Lola is young Princess Leia's LD-LA59 droid from the show Obi-Wan. For that reason, she makes a delightful compantion for Jedi Arno-Ker Nafets. She is not animatronic but has original sound effects and lights.
★ Data Info: Lola is not the first female droid. Spunky L3-37 was the first in the movie Solo.
There is apparently a bounty on Bo-Katan from the Mandalorian show. At least according to this Holocomm Puck. It lights up to project the Mandalore queen and lists a nice sum of credits for a reward.
Yoda came from generous friends. He used to hold candy in a bowl for Halloween. But since he is such an excellent teacher he is helping me spread the good news in the Good Book.
Very good friends brought this Light Saber Water Bottle as a gift from a trip to Disney. It lights up inside and makes the ignite sound when you open it. Very cool! Literally.
My first and only Funko Pop bobble head: Cal Kestis and BD-1. I'm not planning to start a collection. But this one is such a lively depiction of that adventure duo.
★ Fan Question: Should Cal have more reddish hair?

I knew I had to bring back merch from my first trip to Disney's Star Wars park.
There were items on my wish list they sadly didn't have. Others I saw that made wonderful souvenirs.
I bought several items for my collection, including some Black Spire souvenirs, collectibles from my wish list like that Spira Credit, an adorable shoulder Porg, and a helmet that was too good to pass up on.
★ Collector Note: I was disappointed that the park stores did not have much bounding attire to offer as I had seen in some YouTube videos. In general there was only a small selection of each category of toys/props and souvenirs/wearables.
★ Fan Tip: I get items new or used on eBay.
I had seen this windshield Sun Shade online. When it was on clearance at our local big box store I got it. Too bad the crew of Chewie, Luke, Ben, and Han only gets to pilot my Prius shuttle when it's parked.
"I've made a lot of special modifications myself." - Han
Porg, meet Grogu in my car/shuttle window. Baby Yoda on board, meet Porg.
I laminated several inserts for Mando's green little suction-cup charge, including: Mandalorian, Jedi, Rebel, and for Christmas: Joy to the Galaxy.
"Where I go, he goes." - Mando
O yes, Hallmark and other companies have capitalized on the popularity of Star Wars. And since there are do many great original references and even more possibilities of creating memes, Greeting Cards are a real thing and I have received several of them. My favorites are the expensive, cool kind with pop-outs and sound.
Prepare to receive incoming transmission.
So you would need stamps if you wanted to mail your Star Wars birthday or Christmas cards. Luckily for you fans the US Postal Service has issued special editions like this Droid Postage Sheet which my church office assistant and fellow fan gave to me.
"Gonk, gonk!" - Droid
Over the years, my collection has grown. Both through my own purchases, but also as gifts from people who know about my obsession as my wife calls it. Maybe she is right. But I will not turn down a free hand me down. Email me with donation offers: starwars @munker.us.
