Dr. Hughes received his Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Bowling Green State University in 2023. His current stream of research primarily concerns the impact various social exchanges (e.g., helping behavior, mistreatment) have on psychological, physiological, and behavioral outcomes for employees. This research stream is couched within his broader interest in topics related to occupational health psychology. He is also interested in morality and emotions at work, technology and work, human-animal interaction, and the intersection of politics and work.
When not working, Dr. Hughes enjoys going to the gym, playing video games, going on walks, and hanging out with Dexter (see our home page).
