Our overall goal is to help increase literacy rates. The 2018-2019 results for the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) tests showed that nearly half of the students who took the test (48.9%) showed below-standard performance in English Language Arts.

Through Sweets for Reads, we hope to improve student performance by making reading fun and more accessible and spread the joy of reading in our area with old and young people alike.
