Sawyer House is equipped with a smart lock for your convenience.  You will be given a 4 digit code at check-in.

To Unlock: Press the home icon in the lower left corner of the keypad. This will illuminate the panel numbers. Enter your code. You will hear a mechanical sound to confirm that the door is unlocking. 

To Lock: From the inside, turn the handle on the lock until the deadbolt is engaged.  From the outside, press the lock icon in the lower right corner of the keypad. You will hear a mechanical sound to confirm that the door is locking.

This home uses well water and a septic system.  Please abide by the warnings posted in the bathroom and kitchen.  To maintain a healthy septic system, only human waste and toilet paper (1 ply) should be deposited in the toilet.  Please no "flushable wipes" or similar items. These should be disposed of in the garbage.

In the kitchen, please prevent food waste and oils from going down the drain.  Avoid harsh chemicals and bleaches as these can be harmful to the friendly bacteria that break down wastes in the septic tank.

Garbage is put out Thursday evenings and collected on Friday mornings.  Garbage must be placed in trash bags and deposited in the large black trash can located in the storage shed just outside the entry door.  This trash can should then be placed at the end of the driveway for collection.  Please take your recyclables to the collection center on Townshed road.  The address and operating hours can be found on the  Orford local amenities and services link below.  Note that recyclables are placed in separate bins at the facility. Categories are: paper/cardboard, plastic, metals and glass.  Please read and comply with the directions at the recycling center.

Dog Walking

Dog walking is permitted along the west (our) side of Mack drive towards route 25A. Kindly stay within 10ft of the road to avoid trespassing. Please clean up after your pet.

Coffee Table - The coffee table is equipped with a lift mechanism to function as a desk or extra seating for meals.  Lift the top from the side closest to the couch . Keep lifting until it reaches its full height.  The table will only lock and support weight in the full upright position. To lower the tabletop, gently push it back and down towards the base. Be careful to keep your fingers out of the way of the closing top.
