Knowledge-a-Thon 2025
What is Knowledge-a-Thon? “KAT” is Alma Schrader PTO’s largest fundraiser of the year. We raised over $15,000 in 2022, over $19,000 in 2023, and $18,000 in 2024! PTO uses 100% of the money for Alma Schrader: see the back of the Pledge Sheet for more details!
What does my student do? **See KAT Calendar of Events Page**
STEP 1: Students record pledges from family and friends (recorded on the
attached Pledge Sheet) based upon their number of correct answers given
on KAT Test Day. Students should turn in their Pledge Sheet by
Thursday, January 23. They will be returned for you to collect donations.
STEP 2: In this packet are 100 grade-appropriate questions and answers to begin
studying and practicing.
STEP 3: Students will take the KAT test at home and turn in their score sheets
(digital or paper) the week of February 5th.
STEP 4: Students will collect and turn in their pledges by February 12th. Venmo is great!
How does my student take the test? KAT testing will take place at home. A guardian will simply go through the questions with their student marking correct and incorrect answers on the Recording Sheet. If a student wants to test, but is unable to at home, they will complete their KAT test at school on February 5.
Do I have to sell anything? Nope!
How do I send in donations? Options: (1) Use Venmo to @Alma-SchraderPTO (or scan the QR code → ) and note the student’s name, grade, teacher, and “KAT” in the comments field. Or (2) send cash or check (payable to Alma Schrader PTO) to school in an envelope with the student’s name/grade/teacher and “KAT” written on the envelope. Please use the Venmo app if you’re able! Venmo is a PayPal company; it’s free, & your donation won’t get lost! Avoid using payment protection if sending the money through Venmo because it costs us a percentage of the donation.
Where can I get another set of the questions?
sites.google.com/view/sweethomeaspto or Rooms
Are there prizes? Yes!! See the back of the Pledge Sheet.
What’s our fundraising goal? Our goal is to raise $50 per student. A small amount from a few people will get you there quickly. Remember that 100% of the pledges go directly to our school’s PTO. Our 2024 KAT Fundraising Building Goal is $15,000!!!
Thank you for your support!
