The Southwest District 4-H Horse Council governs the 4-H Horse program activity in the Southwest 4-H District, and elects representatives to serve on the Virginia 4-H Equine Advisory Board. All 4-H Leaders are invited to attend the Southwest 4-H District Council meetings.

District Educational Workshops & Contests

• Intro to EquiSmarts! This is an educational workshop hosted by the Virginia State 4-H Horse Ambassadors breaking down the aspects of the State Contest "EquiSmarts" hosted in April. Events include; presentations, public speaking, horse quiz bowl, hippology, and horse judging. Open to 4-H and FFA members.
