He graduated from Mangalore University with a B.E. in civil engineering in 1990, from BITS Pilani with a master's degree in structural engineering in 1992, and from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee with a doctorate in structural engineering in 2002. He has a great deal of academic and professional experience in the field of structural engineering. He was employed by M/S Gammon India Ltd. as a Design Consultant from August 1990 to December 1990. Furthermore, from December 1992 to September 1994, following the completion of his master's degree, he worked as an assistant lecturer at BITS, Pilani. He worked as a Lecturer and Seniors Lecturer at the National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, from September 1994 to March 2000 and March 2000 to May 2005, respectively.  He began as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee in May 2005, and he has been a Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at IIT Roorkee since 2019. Meanwhile from Oct 2011 to March 2012, he also worked as a Commonwealth Post Doctoral Fellow in Materials and Engineering Research Institute, Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, UK. His research interest includes the Reinforce Cement Concrete, Construction Materials, Sustainable Construction, Rheology of Concrete, Recycled Aggregates, Self-compacting and printable concrete etc.

He graduated from Jadavpur University with a B.Tech. in civil engineering in 2010, from Indian Institute of Science, Banglore with a master's degree in structural engineering in 2012, and from Indian Institute of Science, Banglore with a doctorate in structural engineering in 2018. He has a great deal of academic and professional experience in the field of structural engineering. He was employed by Airbus Engineering Center India, Bangalore  as a Associate Engineer (Stress Analysis) from 2012 to December 2013. Furthermore, from 2017 to 2018, following the completion of his PhD degree, he worked as Institute Research Associate at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.  He also worked as a Post Doctoral Research Associate in Texas A&M University, USA. His research interest includes the Multiscale Mechanics of bio-inspired Heterogeneous Architected Composites, Mechanics of 3D printed structures and components, Application of Machine Learning and Reduced Order Modelling in Multiscale Mechanics, Physics Based Modelling of Ductile and Brittle damage, Peridynamics and Generalized Continuum Modelling, Efficient modelling of fire induced damage of structure.
