Welcome to Swaply. Your privacy is paramount to us. As an application designed specifically for educators registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Kenya, we handle sensitive professional data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information to facilitate seamless workstation swaps.
1. Information We Collect
To ensure the integrity of the swap process and verify your professional standing, we collect the following data:
Personal Identification: Full name, TSC Number, and phone number for contact purpose.
Professional Details: Current workstation (school), teaching subjects, designation, and County/Sub-County of current posting.
Preferences: Your desired workstation locations and reasons for requesting a swap.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data strictly for the following purposes:
Verification: Confirming your status as a registered teacher in Kenya.
Matching: Identifying potential swap partners based on your mutual workstation preferences and subject combinations.
Documentation: Generating the official Swap Certificate once a mutual agreement is reached between two teachers.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. However, information is shared in the following contexts:
With Other Users: Limited professional info (TSC No, Subjects, Current Station) is visible to other registered users to facilitate matching. Your National ID and private contact details remain hidden until a match is confirmed.
TSC Compliance: The generated Swap Certificate is intended for presentation to the Teachers Service Commission. While Swaply is an independent tool, we ensure the data provided on the certificate matches your registered profile for TSC validation.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by Kenyan law or in response to legal proceedings.
4. Data Security
We implement robust security measures to protect your data:
Encryption: All sensitive data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
Access Control: Only authorized Swaply personnel have access to the backend database for maintenance purposes.
Verification Gates: We use TSC number validation to prevent non-teachers from accessing the platform.
5. Your Rights
Under the Data Protection Act (Kenya), you have the right to:
Access and update your profile information at any time.
Request the deletion of your account and all associated data.
Withdraw your consent for a swap at any point before the certificate is generated.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information as long as your account is active. Once a swap is successfully completed and the certificate is issued, we archive the transaction record for a period required to assist in any TSC verification queries.
