Dr. Yiyi Zhu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and Director of the Socioemotional Well-being & Affective Neuroscience Lab (SWAN Lab). He earned his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2023. Prior to joining CityU in April 2025, Dr. Zhu was a postdoctoral research associate at the Institute on Aging at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he contributed to the Affective Neuroscience Project of the Midlife in the United States (MIDUS) longitudinal study. Dr. Zhu’s research employs a multi-method approach to examine how sociocultural factors shape emotional well-being. His overarching aim is to understand the mechanisms through which emotional well-being contributes to long-term health across diverse cultural and environmental contexts.

Yulin Tong is an incoming student at the University of Chicago's Masters in Computational Social Science (MACSS) program. She completed her B.S. in Psychology and Data Science at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research explores emotion topics in social interactions and their underlying neural mechanisms. After graduating she plans to pursue a graduate degree in affective psychology. In her free time, she's a reliable cook and a ski enthusiast still finding her balance.
