Chili & Soup Cook-Off
Entry into the competition is Free for SVL Yacht Club Members. Teams may enter as many entries as t.
Tasting still costs $5 per person, even for members.
Non-member entry fee is $15 for first entry and $5 additional for each additional entry.
Memberships are available for $25 and would get you free entry into the chili & soup cook off!

Someone from the Yacht Club will get in contact with you to confirm your entry.
Chefs need to arrive by 10:15 to be ready before tasters arrive. (doors will be unlocked at 9:30 for early birds)
Tasting will be from 11am to 1pm.
All chili & soup must be prepared off site.
Prepare a minimum of 8 quarts for each entry.
No packaged or canned chili or soup allowed.
You can be as creative as you want in attracting the crowd to your booth and getting votes. However, you cannot hang anything on the walls.
You may not sell anything or accept any cash at your table.
Chili & soup may only be served to holders of a valid tasting wristband issued by the Spring Valley Lake Yacht Club.
Chili & soup will be judged by “People’s Choice” vote (tickets given by the tasters)
The public attendees will cast votes for their favorite chili & soup by depositing “vote tickets” in a container (provided).
Tasting will continue until 1:00 pm.
When the Spring Valley Lake Yacht Club official calls time, vote collection will stop and the vote containers will be collected for counting.
Contestants must be present during the entire time of the competition. (serving, judging, etc.)
Do not allow tasting prior to the official opening of the chili & soup tasting at 11:00 AM.
Each entrant is responsible for completely cleaning up their area at the end of the tasting and removing all items from the area.
Any items remaining after the event will be discarded.
All decisions made by the SVL Yacht Club are final.
Any individual or team may be disqualified or removed from the competition for failure to adhere to these rules.
