On Sunday, May 12th, 2024, the SVHS drama department and the world lost one of its brightest lights. Our beloved Milo Anima (a reknowned actor, props designer, activist, student, artist, friend, brother, and son passed away suddenly. Although he was only 17, the impact that Milo had on the world is truly remarkable. He left us far too soon but we feel so honored to have had him in our lives. His legacy lives on in all that had the privilege of knowing him and we will carry his light and memory with us always.
Below is some information written by his parents about his celebration of life, where we will gather to honor his incredible life and send him off with one final grand curtain call 💚
"Our amazing firstborn son, Milo Anima, left us suddenly on 5/12/2024 — it was far too soon.
Milo was meant for the stage, and he used his craft to lift others up. He believed in the transformative healing that inclusive artistic expression provides, and he rose to that station with every ounce of his being for those in need of a good laugh, a cry, or just a moment of escape.
We will honor Milo’s commitment to performance, theater, and art on . We would like to invite anyone who knew him to join us in celebration of his tremendous life in the most Milo way possible — by putting on a show!
We ask that attendees come dressed for a celebration, in casual, fun, and comfortable clothes. Consider the following if inspiration strikes:
Dress as Milo would for the theater, in a costume or outfit crafted to celebrate your favorite character or show
Milo loved music and attending concerts, wear your favorite concert t-shirt from a memorable band performance
Anything showing support for Pride Month
Dress as your favorite character from an animated series. Milo loved Over the Garden Wall and The Owl House, for example
We hope to see you there. Whatever you choose to do in life please remember to give it your all, never be too afraid to try, be inclusive, and hug the ones you love as often as possible.
Love,
The Anima Family"
