Hello!
I'm Mrs. K and I teach Drama 1, 2 & 3, English 1 and Theatrical Performance & Production! Theatre is my passion, and as a former alumni of Scotts Valley High (who participated in all the productions), I can personally attest to the performing arts' impact on students.
This is my eighth year officially teaching here at SVHS but I have been involved with the drama program since graduating in 2012 and have directed the last sixteen shows! The amount of talent and dedication our students display never ceases to amaze me. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with them!
At SVHS we have a multitude of theatrical opportunities for students! Whether it's taking Drama 1, 2, or 3, acting in the fall play or spring musical, being involved with drama club, the student-run Winter Play, the improv club (Daddy's Little Meatballs) or working on production/tech for the shows, there's no shortage of ways students can engage in theatre.
This year, I'm thrilled to announce that our after-school drama program is officially a Fine Arts Elective and will be known as our Performance and Production course. Students involved with the shows (acting, tech or crew) will now get academic credit for participating in the shows! Hooray!!
If you're already in my drama or English class, the best way to stay up to date with assignments is to check out Google Classroom.
I'm looking forward to another great year of creativity here at Scotts Valley High!
