Entrance, Mask Check, and Dismissal Protocols
To keep our children safe please practice the following guidelines during morning drop off and afternoon pick up:
Drop off Protocol - 7:40am to 7:58am
CARPOOLS:
Drive west on Green Street and pull up to the curb in front of the SVDP property. Please do not access Green Street using Steiner, but use another street east of the Steiner/Green intersection. The carpool line needs to be visible to those supervising drop off and pick up.
The drop off/pick up line begins at the corner of Green and Pierce. Do not stop directly in front of the school. Please drive as far up Green towards Pierce as possible. This will make room for more vehicles behind you.
It is important that ALL vehicles in line turn right on Pierce to keep traffic moving.
All children should exit the car using the passenger side doors when their Health Check has been verified. Children must be wearing face masks when exiting the vehicle and on campus.
Do not drop your student off on the south side of the street in the middle of the block. We do not want any students or parents jaywalking. This can create a potentially dangerous situation where drivers pulling away from the curb may not be expecting an individual to be walking across the street.
When walking to school always use the crosswalk.
No parking on the school side of the street is permitted. The white zone must be kept clear to keep the traffic flowing without obstruction.
Please be considerate of our neighbors and do not block or park in their driveways.
PEDESTRIANS:
Please approach the Mask Check from Pierce Street.
School Day Protocols
After drop off, all stairwells and hallways will be designated unidirectional to limit the number of potential contacts for individuals.
Lockers will be accessible to middle school students, and items brought to school by students will be limited to school essentials ONLY.
A bathroom schedule will be created to limit the number of potential contacts for individuals and scheduled cleanings.
Pick Up Protocols
Kinder-2nd grade pick up begins at 2:45pm and 12:30pm on Early Dismissal Days
3rd-8th grade pick up begins at 3:00pm and 12:45pm on Early Dismissal Days
CARPOOLS:
Follow the same procedures as drop off and approach the white zone from Fillmore and Green. Do not exit your vehicle. Family Name Placards will be provided to all families and must be displayed on the right hand side of the car. Cars without placards will be waved through and drivers will need to find neighborhood parking and pick up students at the corner of Pierce and Green.
Follow the directions of the staff members outside. When you are idenitfied, your student will be paged from the building. Move as far west toward Pierce Street and wait for your student(s).
PEDESTRIANS:
Parents picking up students will stand along the courtyard wall on designated markers for physical distancing. Please do not bring your pets to campus.
STUDENTS WALKING OFF CAMPUS:
If your student has permission to walk home, they will be dismissed by their teacher at the end of the school day. Students are to walk home and not linger outside in the courtyard or on the sidewalk. They must leave the campus immediately and are not permitted to return that school day.
Medical Appointments:
Do not make medical appointments during the school day. There are no in-and-out privileges. Once a student has been removed from campus, then they are not permitted to return until the next school day.
