The report serves as the main documentation of research and development for the project. Key sections of the report include, but are not limited to:

Introduction

The introduction provides history and descriptions of initial research, with the purpose of introducing the problem at hand.

Background

The background introduces information pertinent to the design at hand, such as specifics about materials used, theories, and discussions about design decisions using a decision matrix.

Design

The design section provides the bulk documentation of the design process, including but not limited to calculations, drawings, and software use.

Model Construction

Detailing of the construction process with plenty of photos and procedures.

Project Management

Discussion of topics such as time management through the use of a Gantt chart, and cost analysis are discussed.

Conclusions

The final results of the experiment are analyzed and discussed in a pertinent manner.

Ethics

Discussion of the importance of ethics within the engineering profession. Also included are the direct ethics codes by various governing organizations.

Bibliography and Appendices

References to work used and inclusions of works needed to be viewed by the reader in order to fully comprehend your discussions, such as software reports.
