Sandra & I (Robert) have been working together with a small team to try and spread the word that that controlled parking is coming to the vast majority of the London Borough of Sutton. It became apparent at the Stage 2 Consultation meetings and from talking to my neighbours I found that 25% of my road DID NOT know about these proposals effecting our road.
Sandra after attending a couple of the meetings, felt extremely frustrated by the fact that 100's of attending residents hadn't received their Stage 1 OR Stage 2 letters in the post. I also felt angered by the way the residents were spoken and lied to and treated with total apathy and lack of concern by the councillors and officials wanting to implement this scheme.
This group was created originally to spread the word to make as many residents aware of the scheme as possible before it was too late. I cross posted on several local groups across facebook and the group has grown very quickly. We have also printed and leaflet dropped to 1000's of houses with the help of local residents and this help has been invaluable.
I (Robert) started by surveying the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) of which my street is included (Sutton Central Green Zone Extension) and found that because the amount of proposed spaces being (252) over the zone we have far more cars that currently safely fit on those roads (Between 262 and 304) which will mean due to the Yellow lines being put down we are set to have a displacement of up to 52 cars. I also threw together a website to raise awareness of this which can be found HERE.
However, it has quickly become very apparent that the majority of our members disagree with the current plans so whilst we do have some members that whole heatedly support the plans they are in the minority. This group will now be dedicated to put a pause on the plans as they stand until the Council can come up with a better scheme to suit it's residents of each area rather than to just line their pockets. This website will give YOU the information for you to make an informed decision.

The purpose of this site is to inform you of the information that I have collected together, nothing more. We can then make an informed decision when we fill in our consultations. We have found the information from many sources including (but not limited to) various Councillors, Sutton Council website, council meetings etc. For my Cars vs Bays Survey. I have gone around to all of the roads at the times stated on the Spreadsheets, I have also collected information from various planning applications which are freely available online. I have used data from only government/council/mayors office websites & the meeting itself.
