I am a final year MSc student in Electrical Engineering at the University of Calgary, transitioning into a PhD in Computer Science under the co-supervision of Dr. Aditya Shekhar Nittala and Dr. Richa Pandey. My research lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)/Bio-HCI, wearables, and fabrication. I design and engineer wearable and sensing devices using out-of-the-wetlab techniques that integrate electrochemical, deformation-based, electrotactile, and optical sensing modalities.

My work bridges disciplines such as computer science, biomedical engineering, and materials science to address challenges in health and environmental monitoring. I focus on scalable, low-cost fabrication methods using eco-friendly materials to develop soft, non-invasive biosensing systems with real-world impact. These include soft-material platforms for sweat biomarkers detection, strain sensing, haptic feedback, and environmental monitoring.

I completed my BE in Electronics (Instrumentation and Control) Engineering at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, India. My previous research spans projects at IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi, IIT Mandi, and Saint Mary’s University as a Mitacs Globalink Research Intern. My research has been published in top-tier venues such as ACM UIST, IEEE-EMBS EMBC, ACS Materials Au, and IEEE BSN, and has been recognized through invited talks and demos. I have received several competitive awards, including the Alberta Innovates Graduate Student Scholarship (GSS), the Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship (AGES) and MITACS Globalink Graduate Fellowship. I actively contribute to the research community through teaching, mentorship, and peer review for leading conferences such as ACM CHI, UIST, IMWUT, DIS, and various IEEE venues. My broader goal is to democratize access to intelligent soft interfaces by making health and environmental sensing more inclusive, sustainable, and globally adaptable.
