Lynette Cheah is Professor and TMR Chair of Sustainable Transport at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. She directs the Sustainable Mobility Laboratory, which develops data-driven models and tools to reduce the environmental impacts of passenger and urban freight transport. An active member in her academic communities, she is Editor for npj Sustainable Mobility and Transport and served as co-Chair for the 12th International Conference on Industrial Ecology (ISIE2025). She is currently Coordinating Lead Author of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on Climate Change and Cities. She holds adjunct faculty roles at the Singapore University of Technology and Design and the University of Waterloo. She obtained her Ph.D. in Engineering Systems from MIT and master’s in Management Science from Stanford University.
