Maps with Geographic Information System (GIS)

Many maps are available to the public, and they get updated over time. Staying up-to-date is challenging as the websites that hold the maps may be moved to a new website.

With the new geographic information system (GIS) that creates, manages, and analyzes all types of data on the maps, the ways maps (and geospatial data) are used are evolving. It can be confusing or frustrating at first, but it also is fun to explore them.

GIS not only provides a new way of presenting data on maps, but it provides the public with ways to get involved in analyzing and presenting data.

Delaware's First Map is a GIS portal to many maps that the public, government agencies, academia, and private factors use.
