This is probably 5 miles north from the intersection where the Biogas operation is proposed in Blades, DE.

Imagine trucks hauling concrete, flammable gas, chickens, and construction equipment on the same roads all day, every day. Now add in school busses, the steady stream of traffic going to/from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to the south (going to/from I-95 in Wilmington) or going east/west from Cape May Lewes ferry to Bay Bridge to the west. Now add in people going to work. Finally, add in the tourists and growing population traveling east/west and north/south.

Our roads are already inferior and the increased traffic in our area is making for a dangerous situation. We have many, many accidents. As far as I know, the number of State Troopers has not increased. It's noticeably more dangerous.

There are many angles to consider. In this case, it's the location. In the case of biogas, it's whether it should be allowed. With all the chicken farms in the Millsboro/Dagsboro/Selbyville area, it would only make sense for a 2nd biogas to go there. Once the horse is out of the barn, we can't get it back.

Obviously there will be increased traffic on main arteries, but the most direct route might be the secondary "back roads" that usually are narrow and without shoulders. They are not patrolled so speed will go unchecked. These roads are notorious for crashes at intersections where stop signs are ignored or intersections are missed. Often, they are head-on fatalities.

Western Sussex offers the county what remains of true forest, scenic waterways, and open space. We're going to protect it from being used as an industrial park.
