The following eight members met in the home of Bill Lohse in 1967 with the intent of forming an organization which was to become the Susquehannock Fly Fishers.

Monthly meetings were held at member’s homes for a few years and then moved to the Lebanon YMCA. Later, the Club meetings moved to the Gin Mill, In Lebanon. About the year 2000, meetings were moved to the Lebanon Vo-Tech. This is our present meeting place.
Charles Soulliard was the first President in 1967. Elwood Gettle was elected in 1969 to be the next president. Carmine “Coach” Pepe began attending meetings and became President in 1971. Pepe remained President until 1985. Dale Zartman became President in 1986 and held the position until 1999. In 2000, Gary Robson was President until 2002. Roger Carpenter was elected to presidency in 2003 and presently holds the position.
Richard Henry was the first combined Secretary/Treasurer. After a few months his job was divided and Francis Bensinger became the first Treasurer. Dave Hoffer followed Bensinger as Treasurer and has faithfully carried out those duties for thirty five years. Don Thomas was Treasuer from 2005 to 2007. Park Haverstick is the current Treasurer.
Dick Henry was Secretary in 1967. Bob Hartnett became Secretary in 1970. Gary Robson held the position in 1990. Neil Light was next Secretary from 1993 to 2004. Robert Kreider was elected in 2005 and is presently Secretary.
In 1975 Bob Hartnet and Cyril Werth were co-chairmen for the first very successful Susquehannoch Fly Fishers Banquet.
The first Fly Tying instruction was in 1973 chaired by Frank Loehle. The first instructor was Vince Marino at the Lebanon YMCA. The second year instructor was John Shollenberger from Tower City. From the third year on the Clinic was formed and designed as a fly tying instructional course lasting six weeks. In 1975, Cary Robson started the Clinic and continues to this day; - over a 37 year achievement!
The Club’s constitution was adopted in 1975. At that time, Carmine Pepe was President; Robert Hartnett, Vice President; Gary Robson, Secretary; Dave Hoffer, Treasurer; and Francis Bensinger, Chairman of the Advisory Board.
