Yosuke Shigetomi is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan University, Japan since April 2024. Dr. Shigetomi learned industrial ecology and energy science, earning his Ph.D. in Energy Science at Kyoto University, Japan in March 2016. During his Ph.D., he worked as a research assistant at the National Institute for Environmental Studies in Japan, and as a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. After obtaining his Ph.D, he worked as an Assistant Professor (2016.4-2018.10) and Associate Professor (2018.11-2024.3) at the Institute of Integrated Science and Technology (Environmental Science), Nagasaki University. His research focuses on sustainable consumption and production cognizant of tackling both climate change and societal issues (e.g., aging, shrinking population) in the future. His ongoing research contributes to understanding the impact of economy-wide lifestyle changes along with demographic trends on the environment and society through the lens of footprinting by conducting an environmentally extended input-output analysis (EEIOA).
