About Me

A journey from Khajura to Rostock and beyond...

I was born and raised in Khajura, a small village in Banke District of Nepal which lies on the Terai plains near the southern border with Baharaich district in Uttar Pradesh, India. After completing high school (10th standard) in Nepalgunj, a nearby city, I moved to Kathmandu, the capital city, to pursue further studies. I completed Bachelor's in Science and a Master's in Chemistry from Tribhuvan University, Nepal with distinction division. In 2016, I received a Japanese Government (MONBUKAGAKUSHO: MEXT) scholarship for Ph.D. I completed my Ph.D. in 2020 from Hokkaido University, Japan. The same year, I received Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Fellowship for postdoctoral research. I was an AvH fellow at the Institute of Physics, University of Rostock, Germany from November 2020 to October 2023. Since November 2023, I am a team leader at the Chair of Photonics and Optoelectronics, Nano-Institute Munich and Faculty of Physics, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich, Germany. My current research focuses on the synthesis and optical spectroscopy of environmentally friendly semiconductor nanomaterials with potential applications in light harvesting and emission.
