I am a Religious of Jesus and Mary (RJM) by vocation and a physicist by education. My life’s path brings together the contemplative and the scientific—a journey of seeking truth through both faith and reason. I strive to integrate my spiritual commitment with my academic responsibilities.
My spiritual journey as a woman religious began with a quiet yet persistent call to live a life of meaning, contemplation, and service. As a Religious of Jesus and Mary, I am inspired by the charism of St. Claudine Thévenet—to make God known and loved through the education of youth and care for the marginalized. This vocation infuses every aspect of my work with purpose and hope.
I hold a Ph.D. in Computational Materials Physics from National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan, where my research focused on condensed matter physics, quantum materials, and density functional theory (DFT). My scientific work explores the electronic, magnetic, and topological properties of low-dimensional materials through first-principles computational techniques.
Teaching has been a core aspect of my journey, with opportunities to serve at St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, and St. Bede’s College, Shimla, among others. I have also worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant in Taiwan, engaging deeply with students and collaborative research. My academic contributions include publications in international journals like the New Journal of Physics, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, and Chinese Journal of Physics. I have been honored with recognitions such as the AAPPS Award for Outstanding Oral Presentation at TPS2023 and the Elite Doctoral Student Scholarship.
As a member of the Division of Condensed Matter Physics under AAPPS, I actively participate in scientific dialogues and professional development, always open to new ways of learning and sharing.
At the heart of my work is a belief that science and spirituality are not opposites, but complementary ways of encountering truth. Whether guiding students through complex concepts or walking with them in their human struggles, I seek to reflect the love and light of Christ, helping them grow as thoughtful, creative, and compassionate individuals. Whether in the classroom, the lab, or the quiet of prayer, I strive to be faithful to this call: to seek truth, nurture minds, and touch hearts.
