Season Rankings

These Survivor Rankings are based off various factors:

Editing: Did everybody get a fair amount of screen time? And did the editors provide quality TV moments? Do the editors surprise me, or is the outcome of the episodes and the winner predictable?
Characters: Was the cast interesting and compelling in both confessionals and in game? Not annoying and over the top, but fun to watch.
Story telling: Do both the editors and the cast work together to create a good season arch and story that is cohesive and consistent.
Game play: This can look different every season, there can be a group dominating the game play of a season, an individual, a tribe. But overall how do the people or person who's running the strategy of this season, make it interesting and fun to watch.
Watch-ability: After I watch an episode, do I want to keep watching and keep watching until the end, or is it often hard to get through because it's boring or not appealing?

36. South Pacific

Season 23

South Pacific has a very overwhelming cast, from Ozzy, Coach, Cochran, Dawn, and Brandon Hantz. And when the cast isn't overwhelming, the rest are extremely underwhelming, like Whitney who had the least confessionals per episode before Purple Chelsea. I hate this 2 person returnee type format, I believe it only worked in Guatemala. CBS always casts the biggest sheep for these seasons who are scared to make any sudden moves, allowing Ozzy and Coach to make the final 4. Ozzy I don't mind as much but Coach is just horrific. I thought Tocantins and HvV was bad, but this was a whole other level. The whole religious Upolu colt made the season almost unwatchable for me and I'll say the only episode I did enjoy in this season was the finale, because I actually do like Sophie as a survivor character.

35. Redemption island

Season 22

Also known as Rob vs Russell, or more just Survivor Rob's Island. I'll admit the premiere of this season is not that bad, I had hopes. But overall the editing for this season was horrendous, basically all we saw was Rob, Rob, Rob, Rob and maybe a touch of crazy Philip and his pink undies once in a while. This season like South Pacific, featured a pagonging at the merge which is almost always extremely boring and frustrating especially when it's clear Rob was leading the Zapatera tribe like sheep to the slaughter and no body seemed to care. Rob's "buddy system" was so cringe worthy, he got actual adults to act like kinder gardeners. Props to Rob, it was an amazing win, but it was also his 4th time playing against all first time players. The actual Redemption Island twist did not work at all in this season, and watching Matt Elrod who is perhaps one of the worst players to ever play the game, win challenge after challenge, was unbearable. This ranks above South Pacific because I believe the story at least isn't as cringey with the whole religious colt, and it had 2 pretty decent episodes, being the premiere and merge episode.
