Graciano Lopez Jaena as a Filipino journalist, writer, and political activist. Lopez Jaena was born in Jaro, Iloilo on December 18, 1856. He wanted to be a physician and enrolled at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. He was one of the founders of the propaganda movement by founding the newspaper La Solidadridad, which become the mouthpiece of the propaganda movement. He educate the Filipino people about their rights and the impotance of  freedom.

Graciano López y Jaena was a Filipino nationalist, writer, and journalist born on December 18, 1856, in Jaro, Philippines. He used various pen names throughout his career, including Plaridel, Dolores Manapat, etc. in order not to get caught. He played a crucial role in the Filipino nationalist movement and was one of the founders and the first editor of the influential newspaper "La Solidaridad." 

Graciano and Rizal tied at being the editor in chief of the newspaper La Solidaridad until Rizal gave up the position and created his own league called "La liga Filipinas" back in the Philippines. La Solidaridad serves as a mouthpiece of the Filipinos who cried for reform. They wanted Filipinos to gain the same rights as the Spaniards. He wants to promote reforms in the Philippines such as; abolition of death penalty, established of free press. representation of the Philippines in the Spanish CortesUnlike Rizal who writes novel and a multifaced genius, Marcelo a satirical writer, Graciano lends on facts on his writings as a journalist and educator.
