Honouring Indigenous Veterans
On November 8th, we honor and remember the brave Indigenous veterans who have served and sacrificed for our country. Indigenous Veterans Day, is a time to recognize the unique contributions and sacrifices of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis veterans.
Indigenous peoples have a long and proud history of military service, demonstrating courage, resilience, and dedication. From World War I and II to modern-day conflicts, Indigenous veterans have played crucial roles in defending our freedoms and values.

World Autism Awareness Day
This year marks the 17th annual World Autism Day on April 2. The month of April is meant to focus on sharing stories and providing opportunities to increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism and fostering worldwide support. The United Nations General Assembly designated 2 April as World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) in 2007, the United Nations has observed the day as a means to promote the full realization of all human rights and fundamental freedoms for autistic people on an equal basis with others.

Grades 2, 3 and 4 are learning about Digital Citizenship and how to be safe online. We are discussing Media Balance which is thinking about how we spend our free time. Digital citizenship lessons address timely topics and prepare students to take ownership of their digital lives. We will discuss: media balance, privacy, digital footprint, cyberbullying and safety.
