Let's Introduce
In 2019 the journey of Surokkha started with some young and energetic university students with a great intention of helping poor women about their reproductive health.
Surokkha Foundation is a non-profitable organization where it works for underprivileged women in slums or rural areas to aware them about their good health and to make them realize that they should speak up about their healthy living. Surokkha is also optimistic to contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals in terms of good health and well-being of the Bangladesh government.
Its continuity can be seen in different social works of Surokkha like distributing sanitary pad, creating awareness through fieldwork and also on online platforms.It's upcoming project in Bhashantek slum in Mirpur would cover a huge range of people to run the moto of the Foundation. In this regard, approximately 65 members of Surokkha all over the country from different colleges and universities are constantly working to make the dream true. The campus ambassadors from different educational Institutions are also working to spread up awareness across the country.
Our mission is to aware both men and women at the root level through different kinds of campaign, program, seminar and social activities to realize them about menstrual hygiene, cervical problem, reproductive health etc. to make sure the positive thoughts and attitudes among them. Distributing free sanitary pad to the economically insolvent women is a accessory initiative to be successful in this journey.
Our dream is to rebuild the society, realizing women good health as a basic human right where women health-related prejudices or taboos would be terminated.
