SurLoop is a music-practice Android app for pitch and speed adjustment, A–B loops, scale detection, on-device karaoke creation, Karaoke Studio and Swar Game. This policy covers these features, including those introduced in version 1.4.
1. Songs, lyrics and local app data
You choose audio and optional synced-lyrics (.lrc) files through Android's system file picker. Playback, pitch/speed changes, scale detection, vocal separation, pitch tracking and scoring run on your device. SurLoop does not upload your songs, lyrics or microphone audio to a SurLoop server or send them to AdMob.
The app stores local file references, practice settings, karaoke instrumentals and separated vocals, imported lyrics, pitch-guide data, karaoke-library entries, game progress/best scores and advertising preferences. No SurLoop account is required.
2. Microphone and recordings
With your microphone permission, Karaoke Studio captures your singing when you start a singing session, shows pitch and scores, and keeps a temporary local voice recording for playback and mixing. You can adjust voice/music levels, guide vocals, echo and timing, then explicitly export a mixed WAV recording. Temporary voice recordings are normally removed when the Studio closes or a new session is loaded.
Swar Game uses microphone samples to detect the notes you sing and calculate scores; it does not save a voice recording. These features do not identify you by your voice. You can deny or revoke microphone permission in Android settings; microphone-dependent features will then be unavailable.
3. Saving, backup and deletion
Karaoke-library files and app settings remain in app storage until removed, app storage is cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Exported files remain at the location you choose and must be deleted separately using your file manager or storage provider. Your original selected files are not deleted by uninstalling SurLoop.
Android backup/device-transfer is enabled. Depending on Android, device settings and the backup provider, eligible app files and preferences may be backed up or transferred independently of SurLoop's own processing. If you select a cloud-backed location in the system file picker when opening or saving a file, that provider handles the transfer under its own policies. Manage these copies through your backup or storage provider.
4. AI model downloads and permissions
Karaoke models are downloaded over HTTPS from GitHub and its download infrastructure and stored locally for reuse. A download sends ordinary network information, such as your IP address and request metadata, to the hosting provider; it does not upload your song or recording. Once the required model is downloaded, audio separation runs locally.
Internet/network access supports model downloads, ads and consent. Notifications, foreground services and wake locks support playback and long-running audio processing. Microphone access supports singing, recording and Swar Game. SurLoop does not request precise-location permission.

5. Advertising and consent
SurLoop uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) for banner ads, optional rewarded video ads and full-screen interstitial ads at game-start transitions. Rewarded ads are offered for a stated benefit, such as a karaoke conversion or a temporary banner-free period.
Google and its advertising partners may collect and share IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), device/advertising identifiers, app/ad interactions and diagnostic/performance information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. This is separate from on-device music and microphone processing.
Where required, Google's consent system asks for advertising choices. Ads may be personalized, non-personalized or limited. Use the app's privacy-options control where available to review choices, and Android settings to manage your advertising ID. Provider-controlled data retention and deletion follow the provider's policies.

6. Sharing and contact information
We do not sell your songs or recordings. SurLoop does not operate a cloud audio-processing or recording-storage service. Transfers you choose through a storage provider and Android backup are described above. If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond; please avoid sending sensitive recordings unnecessarily.
7. Children's privacy
SurLoop is a general-audience music-practice app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through our own servers. Parents or guardians with concerns may contact us.
8. Security and changes
We use Android permissions, the system file picker and on-device processing to limit unnecessary access. Model downloads and Google Mobile Ads data transmissions use HTTPS/TLS. No electronic system is completely secure. We will update this policy and its date when our features or data practices change.
