I am an Assistant Professor in the Learning Sciences and Assessment (LSA) department at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. I received my Ph.D. degree in Measurement, Evaluation, and Data Science at the University of Alberta, Canada. My teaching spans assessment, educational data mining, and quantitative research methods, with a focus on equipping students to engage critically with data and evidence in educational contexts.
My research lies at the intersection of computational psychometrics, learning analytics, and educational data mining, with a broader focus on advancing educational assessment in technology-enhanced environments. I investigate how authentic, technology-enhanced assessment systems can better capture, model, and support students’ 21st-century skills, particularly problem-solving, collaboration, and self-regulated learning. A central component of my work involves analyzing rich process data—including log data, temporal interaction traces, and textual data—to uncover the dynamic cognitive, behavioral, and collaborative processes underlying students’ learning and performance. More broadly, my research seeks to advance both theory and practice in educational assessment in the digital age by integrating emerging technologies, process data, learning analytics, and AI-driven methods.
