Call for Abstracts
We invite abstract submissions aligned to 'Surgery Systems Live: data, people, and technology', with a focus on evidence and implementation.
Abstract categories
We are accepting abstracts in the following categories:
Robotic surgery systems
Digital surgery, AI and data science
Innovations in minimally invasive surgery
Perioperative systems and quality improvement
Sustainable theatres and value-based surgery
Emergency and trauma systems
Deadline for submission: 17:00 on 30th July 2026 Notification of acceptance: 30th August 2026

Oral presentation
The top abstracts will be selected for short oral presentation on the Main Stage.
Authors will also be invited to submit these abstracts to the journal, Impact Surgery.
Poster presentations
Format & Printing:
Posters must be printed and should presented in landscape A2 format (width 594mm, height 420mm).
There is no option for e-posters or to post your printed poster to us.
Posters must include a title as per the submitted abstract submission.
Attendance:
At least one poster author MUST attend the conference to present the poster in-person. I
If you have not already registered to attend the conference, please do so on Eventbrite.
If the submitting author is unable to attend, please email us to let us know who will be attending in their place. If you are not able to attend or wish to withdraw your abstract for any reason, please let us know before Monday 2nd November 2026.
Displaying Your Poster:
Posters will be displayed in the Main Exhibition Hall and the foyer.
We will provide pins to attach posters to the poster boards.
We are not pre-allocating specific boards to presenters. Instead, posters will be put up on a first-come first-served basis. Please arrive early for the best choice of where to put up your poster!
Prizes:
The Surgery Systems Live Poster Prize will be awarded to the top presentations.
Winners will be selected through a combination of Faculty Scoring and Delegate Voting via our live polling app.
Prizes will be presented during the Closing Ceremony at 16:20
Certificates:
Certificates for poster presentation will be emailed within two weeks after the conference date to everyone who has attended and presented their poster.
Prizes will be awarded for the top four poster presentations selected through a vote by attendees. There will be an online form on which all attendees will be invited to score posters.
