F1 in Schools is an international STEM competition for school children, in which groups of 3–6 students have to design and manufacture a miniature car out of the official F1 Model Block using CAD/CAM design tools. The cars are powered by CO₂ cartridges and are attached to a track by a nylon wire.
We are a group of Year 10 students from Wilmslow High School, who all love F1 and some of us even want to go into the industry. We found out about F1 in Schools from Exhausted racing, a team who got through to nationals and are now coaching us through this to win it!
We are from Wilmslow High school in Cheshire-East, England. The school began in 1960 as a grammar school and gradually became a comprehensive school, becoming Wilmslow High School in 1991.
