Private and small-group surf lessons on the beaches of Lagos, Algarve. Every session is capped at six students, taught by Alessandro (Ale), a Lagos-based coach with two decades on this coast. We teach at Meia Praia and Porto de Mos, chosen each day based on tide, swell, and what gives you the best learning conditions.

Ale holds a Level II coaching certification from the Portuguese Sport Institution (IPDJ) and a Level 3 Instructor accreditation from the Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI). Between 2016 and 2019 he trained the next generation of surf coaches as an ASI Instructor Trainer. Every lesson is built around three things that need to grow together: technique, ocean awareness, and confidence.

What a lesson actually looks like

We start on the sand with a safety briefing and a look at the day's conditions, so you know what to expect before you're in the water. From there it's straight into practice: pop-up technique on the beach if you're new, or a quick assesment/recap if you've surfed before. Ale coaches you closely through the whole session, in the water or from the beach depending on what's most useful, giving feedback wave by wave.
