R. Suresh was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India in 1985. He received the B.Sc., and M.Sc., degrees in Chemistry from Presidency College (Autonomous) and University of Madras respectively. He received the Ph.D., degree in Chemistry from University of Madras, in 2014. During his Ph.D. degree, he also received Senior Research Fellowship (2012) from Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India.
From 2014 to 2016, he has been an Assistant Professor with the Chemistry department, SRM University, Ramapuram, Chennai. From 2016 to 2018, he was a FONDECYT Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Laboratory of Trace Elements and Speciation, Department of Analytical and Inorganic Chemistry, University of Concepción, Chile. From 2019 to 2020, he has been an Assistant Professor with the Chemistry department, Easwari Engineering College, Ramapuram, Chennai. From 2021 to 2022, he has been an Associate Researcher with the mechanical engineering department, University of Tarapaca, Arica, Chile. Since 2023, he has been an Associate Professor with the Chemistry department, Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, Coimbatore. He is the author of 2 books, more than 120 articles.
His research interest is the synthesis of nanomaterials for diverse applications, especially as electrochemical and spectroscopic sensors for environmental pollutants and photocatalyst for degradation of pollutants and pigment.
