Last year, the 3rd Lie–Størmer Colloquium, themed “Foundational and Computational Aspects of Symmetry” and held from December 2–4, 2024, took place at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø. The inaugural colloquium, “Between Theoretical and Computational Mathematics,” was hosted from May 26–29, 2022, at the Barony Rosendal.

This year marks an exciting new development: the Lie–Størmer Colloquium will be organised as a joint event with the newly funded national Norwegian AI project SURE-AI.

The 2025 edition will be held at SIMULA Research Laboratory in Oslo, bringing together leading researchers in mathematics, computer science, and artificial intelligence to explore the mathematical foundations of AI and related emerging directions.
