Our research team at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, Malaysia, is at the forefront of sustainable energy materials research. We are dedicated to developing new phase change materials for energy grid, hydrogen storage, bio-medical applications and electric vehicle, utilizing cutting-edge conductive polymer-based technologies. Our exploration is supported by state-of-the-art material characterization techniques, including advanced experimental synthesis, characterization instrumentation, and, more recently, computational theory using Density Functional Theory (DFT).
Our areas of interest span nanotechnology, phase change materials, electromagnetic, energy storage, hydrocarbon prediction, flexible and functional materials, biomaterials, recycling of lithium-ion batteries, conducting polymers, advanced metals, and alloys. We are working closely with medical experts in developing hydrogel materials for wound healing and pioneering non-invasive injectable hydrogels for spinal cord injuries, aiming to significantly improve patient outcomes.
In collaboration with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS we are pioneering research to establish a green methods and high performing materials for improving oil recovery and presently working of game changing well technology using electromagnetic integration for conductive hydrogel for spinal cord injuries repaired. Also working on waste to energy for recycling spent lithium-ion batteries, preparing Malaysia for upcoming environmental challenges. This ground-breaking endeavor aims to develop sustainable practices that align with global standards.
Fundamentally, we work with other institutions and organizations to pool resources and knowledge in order to overcome material difficulties. Our group has shown success in creating new materials and getting our research published in prestigious publications. Through scientific research and material discovery, we want to shape young minds that will have an effect on society and the wider world. Driven by the desire to make a positive impact on society and the environment, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey of discovering and developing new materials with enhanced properties for a better future. We firmly believe that young researchers are the future leaders who will drive our nation forward. We warmly welcome them to explore the thrilling world of science with us!
If you're interested in collaborating with us or learning more about our research, please do not hesitate to contact us at surajudeen@uitm.edu.my. We look forward to hearing from you and exploring potential synergies!
