Welcome to my homepage.

My research interest lies in the broad area of computational solid mechanics. In particular, damage and failure of  composites and other quasi-brittle materials.

Prior to joining IIT Kanpur, I  was a post-doctoral research associate in the Rolls-Royce UTC  of the University of Bristol. I completed my PhD from the same institute in 2016. I received M.Tech from IIT Kharagpur in 2011 and B.E from Jadavpur University in 2009.

During my PhD (and Post Doc) research, I worked on development of novel numerical tools that can predict the highly complex and nonlinear mechanical response of composite structures accurately. This included building advanced material models and element formulations in nonlinear finite element framework and running large structural finite element models in cluster computing environment. Presently, I am interested in  simplified modelling methods for damage analysis of composites,  mesh-independent and meshless fracture modelling methods, fatigue failure, multiscale modelling techniques,   machining of composites.
