Have you ever felt moved by a song, whether it’s physically, emotionally, or mentally? Some beats could make you concentrate, or the lyrics make you cry. Other times the music vibrations can shake you to your core in a comforting way that makes you want to move.
From the day I was able to hold a microphone, I’ve been singing, my father was a Dj back in Jamaica and still keeps that sound alive and well today. My bedtime stories were filled with musical action, every day was a new memory I got to hear of my dad's sound beating another in a big sound clash. Sleeping in a room, and hearing the sounds of every reggae classic you can think of shaking the walls was normal for me. Though there is one thing, I’ve noted over the years, for as long as I can remember, I never had an issue with the vibrations. In fact, I grew to love them more.
I’ve reached a point in my life where I have so much air under my feet to go so much further and create music that gives people that same comfort, vibes, and Caribbean culture that I have and will always love. Being in the Professional Music Program at Toronto Metropolitan University is only my first step. Music has shaken my world in the best way possible, and I will write lyrics, create rhythms, and fill the world with all the possessive vibrations I can to do the same
